it's interesting the high rate of health professionals that are victims to these types of vices.

I don't smoke and almost nobody I know here in Southern California does. There are a few who smoke whenever they drink, but that's it. I notice that whenever I go somewhere else, there are a TON more smokers than here in Los Angeles.

There are probably less smokers in LA because they have a hard enough time getting O2 the way it is with all the smog! <img border="0" alt="[Laughy]" title="" src="graemlins/laughy.gif" />

P.S. Never even tried smoking.

there are more smokers in nyc than you can imagine. my school turns kids into smokers. a large majority of people here smoke, and they all started in college.

i only smoke when i drink, btw.

I used to smoke a pack a day. I quit when I went on zyban (over a year ago). I consider myself an ex-smoker, but when I go to a bar and have a beer the little devil on my shoulder usually gets me to light one right up <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> . So I will have a cigarette on occasion -only when I am in a bar- and I basically never go to bars so I rarely ever smoke.

like many posters above, i only smoke when i'm at bars and i don't go out drinking all THAT often so that means i don't smoke very often.

I have to say that at school, there are a lot of people who smoke, more than I would have expected...
I have to admit that I used to smoke... started out social, while drinking and hanging out. It turned into more last semester, but then second sememster I slowly reduced it and quit once i got into med school. I just don't want to be THAT doctor who smokes.... God help me get thru medical school if other med students are smoking.

btw, am I the only one who can't stand being next to someone who smokes? gosh they REEEEEEEEK so bad that I cough...

I would be so uncomfortable going to a physician who reeks of tobacco....it's like going to a fat nutritionist for advice? 😕

what's the point of going and geting advice when pple don't take care of themselves 😀
