Just heard from a few people I know matched somewhere to PM&R. Shout it out if you are a physiatrist today.

Can't wait to hear where peeps are going on Friday. Hope everyone is happy

I don't know if anyone has looked at the "Regional Statistics by Specialty" (through My Reports) on the NRMP website, but PM&R was more competitive (based on # of positions offered and # unfilled) than Derm, Radiology, Rad Onc, ENT (barely), and Anesthesiology, among many others. Can't comment on Optho because it's not included in the statistics. So we beat most, if not all, of the ROAD specialties 🙂

EM and Ortho Sug seems to have done the best (not taking into account the smaller combined specialties that completely filled). I knew ortho was competitive, but I had no idea it was that popular or competitive.

Anyway, I find all this rather impressive, and inspiring for the future of our field.

Congratulations to all who matched. Do you have any words of advice Re: the matching process, how many PM&R electives to take, what you feel helped your application?

Thanks in advance

Agreed. The statistics are really staggering. Heck, look at general surgery!

I wonder if diagnostic radiology is finally on the decline.

Very impressive numbers indeed! Especially interesting since I'll be in your shoes in 3 years. Wonder what will transpire in that time...

Congratulations to everyone. Let us know where you're headed when you find out on Match Day!

Matched! But working night float cardiology as a sub-i at children's hospital this week so I'm not celebrating too much 🙁

Hey could you post those numbers (if it's legal of course)

It would not be legal, but if you applied this cycle you can log into NRMP and go to the "my reports" tab. Otherwise they should be available to everyone next Monday the 18th, I believe.

Yeah, unfortunately as Tromner mentioned I don't believe we can post the numbers. I noticed people in other forums have posted some of the numbers, but my understanding of the NRMP's policy is we can't post any of the data.
