Third-time re-applicant. I'll spare the long story of my stats, or my first two application cycles, suffice to say I've determined a major weak spot in my personal statement and probably my secondary essays.

Last year I had my PS read by an English / Philosophy grad who gave me (seemingly) great advice and feedback on my essay -- and she herself later got into a great medical school. Unfortunately she was the only one I really had look it over, and no one looked over any my secondary essays.

I'm planning on applying to 35+ schools this third cycle, as it may be my last shot, but the idea of asking anyone to review secondaries for that many schools seems like an impossible ask. Besides maybe my alma mater pre-med committee, I don't really know who else to reach out to or how to get solid (and timely) feedback on my PS or secondaries before i shoot them out.

What resources have worked best for others?

As many people as possible, but not parents.

Ask professors, doctors, uninvolved and blunt friends, people on this forum.

I would recommend paying 1-2 companies that help students with their applications to review it. Even if that means you can't afford to apply to as many schools, the quality of your application should be better and they can often guide you towards schools that you would have more luck with when applying. I would gladly take a look in a few days if you want another person's feedback as well.
