Oh god, please no...
Everytime someone posts to it... I will be thinking (Was that my spot?)
But really, go for it... And good luck to everyone
I have a feeling that the people here that frequent these forums are doing there best to be as educated and prepared for vet school, and all deserve that letter.
Tell you what, Ill make a "There's always next cycle" thread when I get mine 🙂

And I thought I was the Queen of Negativity 😛! I'm not really anticipating great news this year (2nd cycle and not much has changed except my grades have gotten worse) but I want to get this process over with! Not knowing is awful!

There was a thread that listed when letters go out, when interviews happen, etc. I can't seem to find it right now, but if I do I'll post it. I'm a UGA hopeful and I know that I will be one of the last to hear (good or bad I suppose) since they don't send out letters until Mid March from what I understand. 🙁
Good Luck to everybody!!!

Here's the interview date thread....That will give you some idea when to expect mail!!

Does anyone know the situation with CSU this year for instate? Last year they sent out emails in early Jan. telling IS students whether or not they were getting an interview or were not accepted. I know the committee is convening on Jan 9th to make decisions....so will this year's emails, with the interviews gone, just say 'yes' or 'no'? Will we still get them in early Jan?....ooh the suspense is killing me and its barely november!

Well, according to the website we will get offers and denials from somewhere approx mid Jan to mid Feb. So it sounds like 'yes' or 'no' (or maybe). I'm feeling your pain!

Precisely what I did last year. 😎

I swore I wouldnt do this, but this thread sparked my curiousity. I was checking out the 2012 acceptances thread http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=479187&page=16&highlight=acceptances
and noticed that some OP got interviews and acceptances earlier than the schools have posted, selected interview dates. Does this frequently happen? In what cases? I thought it might have been the IS verses the OSS difference but Bobdog got accepted pretty early to Iowa and I if I remember correctly, that wasnt his IS? Was it just his amazing stats or what? Anyone have an idea? This waiting is the worst

Last year, anyone who submitted both VMCAS and ISU's supplemental by September 30th (or something like that) interviewed in November, so I would guess that's why BobDog was accepted so early. This year... just a range to hear about an interview that is waaay too long

And I agree - this waiting is the worst!
Rumor has it that WSU is going to try and get in-state interviews done a wee bit earlier this year. Now that's just what I heard, doesn't mean it's true. But if I get any nice solid info, I'll be sure to pass it along.
I'm not gonna lie....the "Acceptances: Class of 20XX" threads are my favorite. 😀
Hopefully, after looking at them for 2 years, I'll be able to make a post in this years thread!!
If you're like me, and you don't get in, you can't even open this thread, or you'll cry! 🙄
Are you guys aware of anyone who has been accepted to Ohio State without interviewing? I was just looking at the old acceptance thread, and some people accepted to OSU don't have interview dates posted. I was just wondering if this was because they didn't divulge that information, or if some are accepted without interviewing...?
I applied to Ohio State, so I'm curious about these things. 😀

Insert the Sims 2 for Xbox and this would be me.
Yes. The girl who used to work with the vet I interned for this summer got into Ohio without an interview. This was 2 years ago. She was OOS. But she had a 4.0 and about 3,000 hours of vet experience. 🙄Are you guys aware of anyone who has been accepted to Ohio State without interviewing?

No, they interview everyone they accept. It is a larger portion of their score than the objective. Ohio State will be doing interviews December/January this year so people will probably find out a lot earlier than previous years.

I've never heard of anyone getting in without an interview. Having a 4.0 and 3,000 hours isn't that unheard of, so if she did get in without an interview there must have been some other extenuating circumstances.

That's it, I quit. I'm going to go live under a bridge with my cats.

No worries, it's not that common either. What I'm saying is that schools that interview look beyond just grades and the interview is an essential portion of the application. So really, it's a benefit for all of those people that don't have a 4.0 and thousands of hours.

Interesting. None that I know of. The only other unusual thing I know about her is that she has a job lined up already when she graduates. Perhaps it happens more than you think!
It also could have been misinformation, as I didn't hear this from her directly but from someone else. Granted, it was someone who should know... but still, there's always that possibility.
4.0 and thousands of hours not that uncommon??? I'm with twelvetigers, I quit.

Sorry, the bridge has already been taken. But I'll make some room for you if you help me raid dumpsters.

I am 99% sure it was misinformation. How many schools do you think let in an applicant when only evaluating 45% of their application? Especially out of state. If you feel up to it, PM me the name. She is probably in my class or the class above me.
As for the job issue, some students definitely have jobs lined up early. Whether it is with someone that they used to work for, or someone they worked for during the summer.

No, I don't want to share. I'll arm wrestle you for it, though.
