Curious if you guys can share some departments doing a high volume of rectal brachytherapy...?

Also is it generally HDR, LDR, or PLDR?

I know MSKCC used to be known for this at one point in time several year back (still could be the case).

I don't think anyone is currently doing a lot in the United States: you have to look to Europe/Canada.

McGill group used HDR with a cylinder applicator. Dose distribution very similar to vaginal cuff brachy. Versus the OPERA which i think is contact x-ray. I’ve always been curious about the contact x-ray dosimetry especially for more proximal tumors. Does anyone here have experience or references?

McGill, as mentioned above. They're using an HDR approach rather than the contact approach more commonly used in Europe. Less follow-up, but likely more interesting in some ways.

Reach out to your local tertiary referral center. Try to get in touch w/ the brachy doc who is willing to place the Ir-192 next to whatever, whenever. Happy to help identify a center as I'm curious about this myself, if you want to PM me general location you're located...

I heard (but haven’t confirmed) that Methodist in Houston was doing a fair bit
