I sense the troll is strong with this one. Tread carefully, grasshopper, lest you soon find yourself at the business end of my superior thread fu. :ninja:

After watching this, who wouldn't want to be a dentist?

Not really, I plan on offering some evening hours and weekend hours for my patients. I have worked second shift and weekends my whole life (about 25 working years), so I am very used to the schedule, and I actually like it. I know how difficult it is to schedule appointments around work and family life as a parent and patient.

you obviously have no idea what it takes to do dentistry. AND you very nicely illustrated that you have the class and maturity of a five year old. congratulations!

I actually saw this movie and the dentist is pretty BLING with a nice house, nice car and large practice. He also has a hot wife but she's banging the pool man. I'm not sure if I want to be a dentist anymore

Quite the deceiving photo though, because it makes it look like the Dentist is a demon. Good movie though

First off I'm not a troll. I'm a human being just like you. I'm just bringing up thoughts that have crossed my mind. I admit it.
I have job shadowed with the cardiology dept. I know the long hours and weekends the doctors put in. Same the the ER dept..
I have volunteered over a 1000 hrs at the local hospital..
I'm come from a midwestern middle class white family. both my parents are not college educated...I beat the ODDS.. and I hope each one of these members make it..to the university of their choice.
But, you are way more superior than I so go ahead and ban me on a THOUGHT CRIME!
thats what a liberal would do. censorship...

jaypea had the best answer..he didn.t attack my question....

can tell he is gonna MAKE it...

If that is the only reason why you decided to go into dentistry, then you obviously went into the wrong field.

You really have no idea what you're talking about. At all. Do your RESEARCH... which you're apparently really good at, and then get back to us.

Not only are you a troll, but not a very good one. I suggest you be more subtle while making the same inuendoes so it's not so obvious that you are trolling. I like the MD --> DDS choice (always good for about 15-20 posts) and I also can see the Mommy/Daddy thing adding some heat(even though I really didn't understand where you were going with it,...you need to be a little more clear with your insults).

Keep practicing young one. Soon you might actually be fooling us someday.

Good luck 😀

ALMOST correct, my friend.

I'd be down to be a Family GP, but other than that, not much else appeals to me.

I don't want to work in a hospital, I don't wanna be around sick old people all the time, and I don't wanna have to go to court all the time because people are so damn trigger-happy with lawsuits these days.

I like working with me hands, and hell yeah I only wanna work 4 days a week... I also don't want the stress that comes along with the things doctors/surgeons do. Overall, it doesn't sound like I would enjoy it, I wasn't cut out to be a doctor.

I won't say the thought of becoming a doctor never crossed my mind, but my initial plan has always been dentistry, and medicine has been an afterthought.

Dentistry is the finest field in health care. A very well respected profession, with a very noble and critical part to play in people's health. Working with your hands and combining arts and science together (along with business) makes it the superior career.

I just would hate to work in a hospital. I'm so tired of hearing people act like dentistry is a watered down version of medicine. It's everything medicine is and more.

I think this thread (and similar ones) should be closed immediately.
