1) You will rarely, if ever, safe a life (even a pathologist who never sees a patient saves more lives by making diagnoses that dictate treatment, such as removing a person's colon or starting chemo)
2) It is not as interesting
3) You are more of a slickster businessman than a healer
4) every dentist I have ever had has been like Ned Flanders
5) It is not as comprehensive as medicine
6) You don't have to be as dedicated
7) You don't get to do a long and intense residency
8) You don't get to see the wonder of a baby's first minutes.
9) You don't get the honor of being with people in their last minutes
10)You will never run "a code", see an ED thoracostomy and perfrom cardiac massage, or put in a chest tube.
11)You will never get to be awake at 3 am with someone when they are suffering or need help.
Need I say more.
If I wanted to make huge money, I would have gone to a top 15 MBA program, only put in two years, and made more money and had more benefits than any doctor or dentist.
