Why do Adcoms want us to list extracurriculars in secondarys?

Do we simply repeat our activities that we just mentioned in AMCAS or is it even worth coming up with an additional sentence about the activity in addition to what was already mentioned in AMCAS? Seems a little redundant...

Because some people have significant activities that happen after AMCAS is submitted. Especially those not on the early application bandwagon. Lots of people get verified and add schools after new mcats, etc.

Seriously, I think for many schools that is indeed the case.

But I'm also assuming they could be used as interview material or when an ADCOM member wants to know more about a certain applicant based on the primary app.
