QR has algebra 1,2, gemotry, and trig.
ppl in high school can do well on those, too!
we learn bio, chem, organic chem in college unless u took AP courses in high school.

I am not saying this just because I am an asian, but shouldn't QR be the easiest section? I see many ppl with more than 20 on science but lower than 18 on QR and I don't understand it.

I see many ppl in SDN who go to really good school and that must mean u guys did really well on SAT math section too.

Am i wrong?

The problem with QR in DAT is that most ppl feel super cofnident about it, so under estimate the section! Also... TIME! ppl who don do good on QR section, Do know the answers, they usualy run out of time!

damn straight, playa! lol. how're you doin' in that section, bro?

and oh... college math doesn't involve complex algebra/trig/geometry. sometimes, we forget the knit-picky details. The questions I missed were based on time, and forgetfulness.

The QR section isn't that hard. It's just time consuming and also its the last section of the test. After 3.5 hrs of testing, usually by that time, you're already burnt out. Also you get no calculator and comparing fractions and converting fractions becomes a pain by hand. Also there are alot of word problems too.

Maybe its the fact that most of us are used to doing math with a calculator or maybe it's been too long since we've done simple trig and algebra. All I know is I'd rather have calculus and advance math than trig and algebra on the QR section.

My normal, public high school didn't even offer traditional math classes. We had some experimental curriculum called "interactive math" that was all done on computer and was totally jacked. I got all A's in gen chem and physics but I am hoping for a 17 on the QR. There just isn't time to build the foundation.

joonkim, I think it is the easiest section to get a perfect score in. I think most people, including myself, just spend almost all of their time preparing for the science tests because they are more difficult.

Its the time part man. I had calc 3 in highschool.

I knew houw to solve EVERY problem in QR, its just that there is simply not enough time.

Also remember its the last test, so youre pretty worn out 😛

As most people have said:

1. People spend less time studying QR than other sections.
2. It's hard for most to finish the questions in the alotted time.
3. Students get to use calculators in their math classes in school.
4. Many people feel over confident about that section (I know I did)
5. When people take practice tests, they don't take them as a big test (~3.5 hrs), they just take one individual section at a time, which is not necessarily the best way to be prepared for the DAT
6. I think most people can figure out most of the questions, but little stuff can get you, and sometimes people set up problems wrong but actually know how to do it
7. Just wait and see for yourself
