Why does SDN refuse to profile a DO doctor?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.

I dont understand...ive been here often for several years..and i have yet to see a DO profile

ive seen everything including the kitchen sink being profiled...from podiatrists..and neutopathic doctors to the guy that cuts my moms lawn

SDN!! get SOME DO profiles/interview out there!!ASAP

This site was started by a DO and there are multiple other DOs on the volunteer staff, including myself. We do not "refuse" to profile a DO. If you have a DO with an interesting/unique background that would be willing to do a profile interview let us know and we'll look into it.

Was thinking the same thing...not sure where this idea of "refusal" stems from

DO Ophthalmologist Article from 2007.

EDIT: Also, seeing as how only around 7% of US Physicians are DO's I'm sure the amount of DO's being interviewed on SDN is probably more evidence of that proportionality. While that's true in the next 20-30 years there will be a great deal of new DO's out there due to increased class sizes and more schools. Come back and check this site then maybe?

Ironic, coming from a pre-pod who spends most of his time on pre-med threads.

It's funny how you judged first and then got owned with the fact that a DO created SDN.

😴😴😴😴you point out the articles

but its friggin 2007!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for both!!

5 yr gap...

there should be a several DOs per year...equal to that of MDs!!

Why the hell do you care so much? Just go talk to a DO in person and ask them questions rather than reading an internet forum.

Or you could look at M.D. profile, imagine D.O. instead of M.D. after their name. There you go. Same shiet unless they specifically do OMM treatment in their practice.

I find MDapps to be politically incorrect..shouldn't we have a DOapps or for those who apply both, MedApps?

Not exactly relevant but this is one of my favorite gifs ever.

MedBR is a profile created as part of a conspiracy to make MedPR look awesome in comparison. This is a verified fact.

one of the major concerns of the DO degree is their lack of professional recognition...
..in the public, in the healthcare field...and even here by students who are applying to the same school!!

no one knows/understand who we are...

i surely do not want to be thrown under the rug...maybe you do...

but id like to see a CONSTANT steady stream of DO interviews on SDN vs seeing 2 neuropathic doctors placed here

FDO BDO

For DOs By DOs

iam suprised that no one else finds the appalling!!

considering that the last DO interview was 5 YEARS AGO!!!!!!!!

Once again...

I'm just a pre-med now but i'll be very honest. I don't think PM&R is very interesting. Every M.D profiled on this site is from a cool specialty, why are the D.O's profiled from the noncompetitive ones like PM&R? Make D.O's look good by profiling a top tier physician such as the one i suggested above
