Why does sperm prefer fructose?

This probably won't be on the MCAT (well heck it might) but does anyone know the answer and a good explanation to this.

Being that sperm floats around in semenal fluid, at least after ejaculation, it likely has grown mechanisms and enzymes appropriate for that. Semenal fluid is a fructose product and high in it. Now whether it prefers fructose over glucose is a different question, I think it is more likely that sperm at least after ejaculation only has fructose available to it.

IIRC the reason(s) why is beyond the scope of the MCAT. It's just something you have to memorize.
