Why is AMCAS taking so freaking long to send out my app?

My application was verified a month ago, yet there are schools on my list who still have not been sent my application. WTF?! I don't understand why they can't send them out all at once. I sent an email to AMCAS asking why they're doing that, and they sent me the answer to a different question. 🙄

Does anyone know why they do this? It's delaying completion of my apps, so I'm getting shoved back later and later for review. It's really starting to tick me off.

😡

did you just check the amcas website for transmission dates? they didn't list one of my schools as receiving the application, but the school sent me a secondary... *shrug*

I received secondaries from a few schools before I was even verified. I think AMCAS gives them notice of your intent to apply before they transmit the verified app.

The transmission page on the website makes it seem like they're sending my app to a couple of schools every few days or so. Are other people in the same situation or is it just me? It doesn't make sense...

most schools don't request AMCAS to send them application. They go to AMCAS site and download your application 😛

but for some schools, they don't download your application, instead, they ask AMCAS to mail out hard-copy applications...

hope you know what I mean...as for those dates on the AMCAS site, those are the dates the school downloaded your file.

Aha...ok, now it makes more sense. Thanks for the info.

It's a really simple process to download apps--you don't need to be an Einstein to figure it out. In fact, Albert Einstein College of Medicine is one of the few schools that prefers smoke signals/snail mail to dowloading your AMCAS over the Internet. Go figure.😕

Tufts and Drexel also will not download your app. For tufts you mail it in as part of the secondary along with a check of course.

Actually, the signature is a quote from my second grade report card. The whole sentence went something like, "Stephanie is one of the most popular girls in class, but when angered she will hit." My karate friends found this very amusing, given my current penchant for beating the crap out of people. 😀

Damn. A month ago?

Is this a reference to how long ago it was verified, or how long it took me to submit it in the first place?🙂

Beware the Universities that do this. Mostly they just want your money. The quickest secondaries I recieved were the ones where they never bothered to even put me on hold; I am in limbo at WashU and MCW. WashU especially is notorious for sending the "Congratulations for your strong performance..." letter. I guess I may still hear from them, but I am not holding my breath.

I am not sure what he meant, but you did wait a long time. If you do not have the sucess you desire this year I wouldn't sweat it. Take a year off to enjoy beating people up, then apply on the first day next year. You will be surprised how fast you will recieve results if you do so.

Ah, no sweating going on over here. Just a little frustration.

Yo, you Koreans are hilarious...you think I should stop racially profiling you or is it all good?

If I'm pissing you off, you could just go kick your rice cooker, or something. +pissed+
