I don't think residency is as hard as so many people make it out to be. As has been said before, people in this profession like to complain...a lot. Last week I overheard a couple derm residents complaining, gimme a break...even bankers envy their hours but it doesn't keep them from whining. In other words, no matter how good they have it you'll find people in this profession who will still complain. If you enjoy what you're doing then the best thing to do is tune those type of people out and go about what you're doing. But if you're like the many phonies who stay in this profession because they don't have the initiative to do something else, have fun showing up to the hospital every day complaining and wasting your career.
My reflexive response, :
First, I believe misterioso means mysterious..
2) I wouldnt recommend taking ANYONE seriously who basically says in so many words "it aint all that hard".. If that was true more people would do it and get SELECTED for residency!
3) Id like to know the rank/level of someone who discounts the difficulty of medicine? [are you suppose to think this guy automatically flew thru a neurosurgerical or ICU specialist residency... Without making a mistake and someone saying "wudja do that for"?
4) Also compared to Law(recently thought about this) In law most of your clients are HEALTHY.. In general bank robbers, assassins, felons, these guys are REAL healthy!! In medicine a persons drive may be broken and they are mentally and physically sick!! So the work and demand should be much greater in medicine..
5)Happy New Year, and a safe one to all!!
