what do most schools when asking this question: why did you pick our school? thanx!

They want to know that you can communicate effectively (which, I am hoping does not have any correlation with your typing skills 😉 ) and that you didn't choose them by throwing a dart at a list...

But of course, they've been asking this type of question for years, so people know that they have to research it to answer the question.

I think they're just wasting valuable interview time that could be used to ask questions based on a career in pharmacy.

The same thing could be said about questions base on a career in pharmacy. I have interviewed prospectives before and I think it is a good, not great, question. I just want to know that they have researched the school, understand its strengths and weaknesses, and what they are getting into.

I am always impressed if they know something unique or different about the school (e.g. offer compouning course during the 1st year, tons of rotation sites, etc.). It is an important question, so take it seriously.
