Here's a potential interview question that many of you will likely encounter:
Why pharmacy and not medicine, nursing, or PA? "I want to help people" and many of the other common responses (I like science, etc.) applies to any of these health professions. So how would you answer this question if asked in an interview?

Chemist - try using the search feature - I'd recommend the advanced search for "pharmacy interview questions" in the pre-pharm forum.

Although you could start another thread on this & some of us would answer...you'll get some better answers on the previous threads since our best answer was the first time we ever answered the question.

After awhile, to us...its seems as though you weren't listening (or reading) when in reality, you are a different set of applicants. You want to see the what our answers were & our best answers are there - unless you want a different aspect.

So....try using that search feature....then come back...there was a whole thread that went on for awhile on "why not md?" as well as others.

There may also be something on the sticky too.

Feel free to come back if you can't find an answer which helps you...but think also....what are YOUR reasons.....you'll find what ours & others were, but you also need to think of your own.

Good luck!

This is the type open ended question trying to get at applicants INDIVIDUAL motivations for pharmacy. No one else can answer this for you. You can only answer it for yourself, based on your own life experiences or thoughts. For someone struggling to answer such a question, it may be a sign that you need to think more about or become more informed about different health professions or pharmacy in particular.

I agree. These forums may help you with what questions are going to be asked at an interview, but they really can't help you with your answers. Only YOU know why you want to be a pharmacist. It may be the same reason as others, but you have to tailor the questions to your individual needs. Here's a shocker: interviewers have heard pretty much everything. Don't be afraid to be who you really are. After all, it's you that's trying to get into pharmacy school. You've worked hard to get an interview. Now work harder and make sure you know why you're doing this.

Not a silly question at all - a great one!

Go up to the top of your screen where you would click on "student doctor network forums"....there is a blue bar underneath with lots of choices:

User "CP FAQ Members List, etc...toward the right is "Search" - click on that.

Tell me if you need more help & I'll walk you thru.....

Good Question!

Thank you Sdn1977, I got it👍

Here comes another I-want-an-easy-answer type of thread. Dude, if you don't already know the answer to this question, maybe you shouldn't even apply at all.
