Will adcoms know how many universities/colleges I have attended in order to receive my degree? I have had some family issues, and I only plan on reporting to them two of the three colleges that I have attended. A community college, and a major university. As for the school that I am leaving out, I was only there for one semester, and then I was forced to relocate to a different state-- producing 3 W's and 1 A on my transcript. I don't plan on informing them about this third university, mainly for the poor production. Will they find out?

Still waiting to see where the chips fall... but I'm really happy with my choices so far, and I know it's going to be a really hard decision. Are you all decided?

It is not unusual to see 3 or 4 schools listed. It starts to seem odd when there are six or more and even then there are often reasonable explanations including summer classes, study abroad, post-bac, etc.

They will know, and what you are thinking of doing is deceptive, a very big negative for a future physician and colleague.

Some long-ago Ws with a good excuse will not reflect negatively on you. The A reflects positively. Don't worry about it.

What about applying to residencies and one forogt to list a minor course at a community college? How will they know?

How will the schools know? is there a background check mechanism? interesting question. The OP didn't attend a whole bunch of colleges/unis and doesn't have that bad of a production. be truthful.

I listed 6 colleges (high school classes, Undergrad, year abroad, online prereq, post-bacc, future courses).

Result: Accepted, Class of 2016.

Don't sweat it. Be completely candid.
