Will boards let my med school know of my background check when getting Lisense?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Why do you think the board will contact your school? They might contact your school if there is some huge red flag on your file, like one that should have excluded you from medical school in the first place. But you dont have a red flag. You have a yellow flag at most and, in my opinon, you dont even have a flag. You have like part of the stick you would attach cloth to to make a flag. You weren't even arrested.

I'd recommend either telling your school now or forget about it. I don't know how your school would react. I don't think they'd care, but who knows.

Make sure you are honest as possible in the future. I know you weren't being intentionally dishonest in this case.

OK, so when I started medical school the school did Federal Background Check prior to matriculation.
I had to have the same for residency.
I had to have an additional background check with fingerprints for each of the 6 state licensing boards I applied to.

If you have something on your record I suggest to take care of it now, get a lawyer if you need to so you save yourself a HUGE hassle in the future.

I feel that one of the biggest problems is how difficult it is for someone to actually find out if something is or is not on their record. For instance if something was expunged from a juvenile record many many years ago, I don't know of any private background check you could do to reveal that record. On the other hand its been stated several times on this forum (not sure if its true) that these expunged records will show up on some higher level background check administered during residency/licensing. On another note, how is that even legal?

I had to just complete a background check prior to matriculation.
