Will Employment in Medical Transcription Help?

Pondering what I should do as far as experience for med-school. I don't really need the money, but medical transcription just sounds more interesting than volunteering a my hospital (last time I volunteered in high school they stuck me making popcorn for 6 months :/). As far as medical experience, would medical transcription be looked on more favorably than simply volunteering (assuming I could actually find some volunteer work with patients/medical professionals)? I don't have much free time so would I be better off keeping up my studies and just volunteering a few hours? Thanks and apologies in advance if I asked a stupid question.

i would go with your latter option, but trying to find some meaningful volunteer experience. it doesnt have to take alot of time as far as each week, and if you do it for a couple years, its really good

Thanks peeps! I really haven't heard of anyone doing med transcription as part of a pre-med resume` building thing, but thought I'd ask anyways because the classes can be done online and I don't have much free time with college and all... Thanks a bunch!
