I'm a nontrad student that is doing a post-bacc program and it is taking me a longer time than without funding from the school. My doctor says I cannot get another loan and he will not sign for one. He wants me to volunteer or get a job to show that I'm able to stick with a job so that I can pay back loans in the future. I'm seeing a doctor for being bipolar and I have my past loans forgiven. Because I want to borrow again and will need to for attending med school is my only option to work to be eligible for loans? I don't want to take more time doing something else, so far it has taken me more than 2 1/2 years. What can I do? --Hopefullpremed

Hi there,
It sounds like you have a fairly unique situation and should try to work it out with both your physician and contact your financial aid office. Since it seems like the issue with your financial situation is primarily a medical situation and since SDN isn't a place to receive medical information, I am going to close your thread.

I wish you lots of luck in sorting this situation out.
