I'm freaking out right now.

I've been taking an NBME each week and haven't improved much.
20: 189 (2 months out)
UWSA 1: 217
21: 211
22: 207
23: 210
24: 206
18: 198 (latest)

Going to do UWSA2 next week and Free120. Then exam the week after.

I'm hoping for at least a 220, but with this most recent NBME 18's score, I'm worried if I'll even pass. Reddit's score predictor is predicting a 224ish, but I'm worried that it's not accurate since I haven't scored anywhere near that on the NBMEs.

I would push back your exam. You might pass, but the real thing is harder so you'll feel like you failed and be freaking out.

Dude you are wasting time with all these practice tests. Each one is like 4 hours, and none of them have learning answers expect for uworld.

That’s 4x7=28 hours of time that could have been spent studying. Forget any other practice test except uworld is my advice - do it a week or so before your planned exam to see if you should delay or not. Focus on studying /learning, not performing on practice tests.

Yeah I only took a couple pre-tests, did poorly (like barely above 200) got frustrated and felt like i was wasting time so I just studied more. Last pre-test still showed me around 210, took step a week later and got a 223. Still not good, but within range to have a decent app overall. You do you, if you think you'll benefit from having more time, then delay, otherwise study hard and rest well the night before.

When do you recommend using those 2 uWorld exams/assesments?

Just to be clear - I am not saying only take 2 practice tests total. I stated Op needs to stop with practice test taking besides Uworld because Op has taken 7.

I imagine different people use and plan practice tests differently based on their needs. I had no fear about not passing, so practice tests for me were not used to decide on delaying or not. They were used by me to get extra practice questions and simulate the “endurance“ dynamic of the test taking. I also took a baseline assessment. Read the step 1 experiences thread for more info if you’re interested.

For what it's worth form 18 was my lowest, look at your % correct. It has a pretty harsh curve. I got form 18 %+6 on one of the newer ones and there was almost a 20 point difference.
Which reddit predictor are you using? What is your overall Uworld % from dedicated?
My NBME practice tests correlated inversely with my stress levels. I'm not near as much into the fluffy feely stuff as my school is but U actual found some deep breathing excercises quite helpful.

Fact. I just checked my overall raw score for form 18 and I did better than the other NBMEs, so you're right. I'm using the 2019 version of the Google Sheet someone from Reddit made compiling all the reported scores.

Most of the reddit score predictors I looked at were either fairly accurated or overestimated me just a tad. I think the most accurate ones were those that used overall dedicated Uworld % (especially if you're not remembering answers) and the Free 120.
You got this!

Thank you, this means a lot.
