I know this is asked every other day, but I'm curious if my situation is "reasonable." My advisor is crappy to say the least, because the advisors give very little guidance until you're about to apply.
This semester, I was going to take PChem, Physics 1, Physics 1 lab, a writing class (fulfills Gen Eds), and Genetics. I'm also doing a credit of research.
Genetics and PChem are incredibly hard. I spend so much time between my jobs, research, and classes, that I feel warn down every day. By the time I study, I find myself half-a**ing it sometimes. I want to drop PChem and take it later (my school only offers a semester of Gen Chem so pre meds have to take PChem).
I'm a sophomore. I did a 13 credit semester my first semester of freshman year. Taking 13 credits this semester will keep me full time and I'm on track to graduate.
Basically, I'd be taking:
- Genetics
- Physics 1
- Physics 1 lab
- Writing course
- Research credit
I also have two jobs on top of these, but unfortunately I'm not doing many med school related ECs outside of the summers, which makes me a little scared, hence why I'm asking. I'm emailing physicians left and right to get a shadowing position, and I've applied to volunteer at my local hospital, but replies for that come in two months. I'm gonna try to get a volunteering gig on Saturdays at a local homeless shelter, but I still haven't heard back.
Thanks!
