Crazy question, but will a top 10 med school toss your application out if you took the mcat a 4th time...but given that improvements were made each time you took the exam?

Thanks.

20->30? probably will toss it out

35->40? well if you're going up each time i don't see why they would other than the fact that they might think youre a little obsessive and irrational about your mcat score

Are we talking small or large changes in score? How far apart are each test?

4 times doesn't look good in my opinion, but, hey, what do I know?

What has your score progression been like?

Did the 4th time kill the MCAT?

if you had to take it 4 times that probably speaks more than anything about your chances at a top 10 school.

The only situations you can rationalize a 4th mcat is if there is a massive jump in score. Or if you had taken the mcat 3 times, changed careers from pre-med, and then decided later in life you wanted to go to med school.

Why don't you just use the 40 you claimed you bagged earlier?

Didn't you also just post this:
...since taking the mcat more than 3 times is ridiculous and raises red flags. I agree that even 2 is the limit for some schools...

Asked and answered.
could be looking for additional opinions... maybe now he thinks he is wrong? who knows

The Medical College Admissions Test is designed to be taken only once. If you have illness or some extenuating problem, then reschedule your test but don't take the test and then do retakes.

At the two medical schools where I do admissions, we generally will not look at more than one retake (the retake had better be higher than the originial score). After all, USMLE/COMLEX I are one-shot tests. You only retake if you fail and you don't want to do that.

Don't take it a fourth time. You will literally die as soon as click the submit button.

well you aren't allowed to take the mcat more times than you have had sex so
