I took my MCAT July 12th. My AMCAS application was submitted on the 6th of June and Verified about two weeks ago. I have received half of the secondaries for the schools I applied to so far and they have been completed. My letters of recommendation are also in.

My question is, will my application still be considered "early"? My MCAT score is expected to arrive August 12th. Everything else will be in either before then or within days after (the schools that require the MCAT for secondaries).

You won't be late. You won't be early. You will be average.

Not like you can change anything now anyway right?

If you're stats and EC's are competitive you should be alright, you aren't at the point where most of the ii slots for the year will have been already decided.

To go with this...
What if my secondaries are all in by Aug 1, but my committee letter isn't? Our pre-health director got my info in early June which is when she would accept it, but she hasn't gotten anyone's out yet. Is this going to hurt us?

Also is having secondaries in by August 1 early average? Or just average?

Going to hijack this thread lol but just submitted by primary and most likely going to be verified by first week of August. If I have all my secondaries prewritten and submit them early August should I be good? Stats are average though. Sort of in the same position as you OP

Guys, the only date that matters is when you are complete. Complete July is early, August (possibly stretching to early Sept) is average, anything after mid Sept is late.

Edit: complete means that the schools have everything they need to evaluate your app: primary, secondary, letters, and MCAT.

So late July primary submission is fine as long as I pre-write secondaries?

That depends on how AMCAS is running in terms of verification times. Last year was horrible and people who submitted in late July didn't get verified until Sept or later. If they're not failboating all over the place this year it might be ok. There should be a verification thread around here that will give you some indication of how things are going. See my edit on my post for what 'complete' means exactly.

Alright, it seems like I'll be somewhere between "average" and "late" according to your definition.

It's about 3-4 weeks at the moment for verification based on that chart.
