I'm currently registered for American Literature 2 and the class just started today. Turns out that it will be very time consuming and I suddenly got a lot busier with secondary applications coming in and my research lab starting a bunch of experiments. Therefore, I'm considering dropping the class, but drop/add period ends tomorrow night, so I have to decide quick.

I originally registered for it because I figured it would help my application to a certain extent. My MCAT score breakdown is 12ps, 8vr, 12bs, and M for writing, so it would serve to balance that out (is that how it works?). Also, I've only taken 1 English class at my university, but 2 more classes worth of credit from AP. I've emailed all the medical schools I'm applying to and they all accept AP credit for filling the requirement, but I've heard that taking them at college is more competitive.

My application is good in every other aspect (3.99 GPA, clinical and non-clinical volunteer experience, research, shadowing), so I'm not if such a technical issue would even matter. Thoughts?

Yes you will be rejected by medical schools for dropping a non-required class that doesn't show up in your transcript so they will never know, especially with your poor MCAT and GPA.

No worries. Just drop it before the add/drop period ends so you don't end up with a withdrawal.

Well, I did enter it for current/future courses on my primary application, so they do see it. But, yeah, I was probably worried over nothing. Just wanted to check the opinions on here to be sure.
