Hi,

I want to use the topic based practice exams (i.e. Taxonomy, Eco/Evo/Animal Behavior) because my background in these topics is EXTREMELY weak as compared to the others. If I take these exams for practice will it effect my scores on the full length practice exams because I've seen the questions before? I plan to take the full lengths in about a month or two.

Any advice would be amazing.

Thank you.

Since they pull from the tests I'd assume they would. I recommend you read ferrallis notes and cliff notes for those areas you are weak on.

I believe they do pull from the full length tests, but if you need to review them, then you need to review them, and DAT bootcamp has great explanations. You shouldn't worry as much about your bootcamp scores, just learn as much information as you can from them and when you want to see where you are score-wise, take the 2007 and (more so) 2009 DATs.

Yeah, I had that concern when I was studying for the DAT. I wanted to have a place to practice each subject and/or topic, while still being able to save the Bootcamp exams as my full length tests. What I recommend is going through DAT Destroyer and DAT QVault to get extra practice (DAT QVault even allows you to practice individual topics if you are interested in that), and then once you feel you have a good grasp of Destroyer and DAT QVault, then I would save the Bootcamp exams as your full length practice exams.

Here are my practice score averages compared to my scores on the real exam for your reference:
