I hope everyone is ready for 2014!

What big (and small) goals does everyone look forward to tackling this year?

I'm scheduled to take the MCAT on May 31, I've got a good G.P.A. and I should be applying this year. It's just now starting to sink in that I'm really applying to medical school. When I reflect on my life, I realize how truly blessed I've been. I was once a mere high school dropout but I'll be graduating with a degree in chemistry shortly and , G-d willing, I will be a physician. There have been periods in my life wherein I've truly lost all hope yet I've persevered.

Let us all strive to make 2014 a year of positivity

I'll start college in 2014, so it'll be a good year if I can just get good grades and meet good people.

I'll start working in my first ever research position next semester and I'm really excited. My goal is to distinguish myself enough in the lab to get a fellowship over the summer while not letting the extra time commitment tank my gpa.

I'll be tackling my new major and joining my school's wind symphony. I'll also be taking only 15 hours as opposed to last semester's 17. It'll be a good spring.

Get mega swole. This summer I'm gonna be hotter than the sand, bigger than the ocean.

Or actually
Get that 1st acceptance
Continue to narrow down specialities I may be interested in
Get better at piano
Get fitter
Get it in
Read more books

Taking classes during the spring, summer, and fall sessions. Determined to get that 4.0. My strategy: walk into class every day and think "I'm going to slay each and every one of these basic b*****s."

That's actually how I turn up at parties. "Imma slay these basic bitches. TURN UP"

On a serious note, I'm gonna be a TA for Gen Bio as a freshman, so I'm kinda excited for that. Taking Orgo, Physics and Bio, so I'm excited for that too.

I am going to loss these extra pounds of 'grace' this year.
I tried to during the year of 2013. I went to crossfit like gym Orange Theory Fitness like everyday and no luck.
So I signed up for LA fitness. I planning to jog daily for least 60 mins continuous.

I hate my body composition the only time I can recall when I lose sufficient amount of weight is when I went on a yogurt and salad diet/starvation.

In addition, I am going to manage my money in a proper manner.

I would also like to find my Mr. Compatible.

Also this^.

Not a fan of New Years resolutions, but always good to have goals... so yeah let's hope 2014 is awesome.

1. Run a marathon
2. Learn to keep a real budget
3. Eat out at restaurants less!

1. Maintain a healthy lifestyle.
2. 4.0's!
3. Study like hell for the MCAT and do my best.
4. More zZ's this year, please!

All as a freshman?
Yeah, 2nd semester. Algebra based Physics. AP Bio basically. Only thing I'm really worried about is Orgo because I'm taking a 3 semester Gen Chem + Orgo sequence.

I pulled off a,similar stunt in my freshman year. A bit overwhelming (cell bio, linear algebra, intro physics, ochem) but managed to survive. Though I didn't do any ECs, so that's a cost. It's a doable schedule but don't overcommit yourself. Ochem was a harsh change for me so don't stress yourself out in your freshman year!

Definitely. I'm also TAing and I have AP Stat basically. But once again, Ochem is really all I'm worried about. I'm at 18 credits with everything included, so I don't think it's really that bad.

To get only A's and nothing less in all my classes. To ace them, to study for the MCAT and ace the MCAT in september. Aiming for a 35+.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA's.
I'm going to be "that guy." My hand is going to be up in class and discussing stuff so much, that the professors will have to have it engrained that I'm there.

I plan on conquering your mom. Just like so many others before me.

Ouch, not going easy today, eh?

There comes a time in a pre-med's life when they get accepted to medical school and start subscribing to the philosophy of not giving a **** (until school starts up again). Also, the ED is slow tonight and shenanigans one would see in the film Weekend at Bernie's are apparently illegal/unethical.

I wish I had the money to burn to spend my gap year doing road trips.

1) 4.0 this semester
2) Get healthier and more fit
3) Obtain awesome LORs
4) Submit my application
5) Hopefully get interview(s) and acceptance(s)!

1. Gain a CA medical school acceptance
2. Find a way to pay for medical school
3. Enjoy my time with family before MS-1!
4. Deadlift 585-600lbs before starting medical school next year
5. Go to New York for a bit before medical school. 🙂

trying to learn to let go of the things that are out of my hands and not be such a control freak.
