We are nearing the middle of the 2007 cycle and many of us are accepted or awaiting acceptances or interviews. What i have been noticing is that the "what are my chances" threads are starting to pop up again. So how long do you all plan on hanging out on SDN? Will you all see the 2008 cycle?

As of right now i am not totally annoyed with the check my stats stuff but i can see myself reaching that point in the future

Most of the over-achievers here on SDN are done with the 2007 app cycle. It lasted from may 15 to dec 1. 😀

I am pretty annoyed with the new threads that are all repeats. But that is just me, and my fault for sticking around. I can't wait to e-migrate over to the dental students thread when I have something important to say.

I have been watching on sdn for a long time. Reading threads and you have struck my attention. What sticks out to me is your overall insensitivity to your fellow sdn-ers who also dream of being a dentist. You are obviously very pleased with yourself and your achievements. It is very nice that you were, for example accepted to 5 dental schools on December first. Good for you. Instead of being humble about it, you started a poll asking which school you should go to. What bothers me about this is how many people who read these posters were

a) heartbroken because they were rejected that day, or
b) sad because they hadn't heard yet from their dental school,

Your thread was both bragging and rude. Did it ever occur to you that VERY good and gifted students may not have heard yet? Did it occur to you that a dentist needs to have social skills, even with people who may not have gotten perfect scores in school. Your comments are also offensive to me and possibly other people who have worked many LONG and HARD hours to get into dental school. You are more than welcome to e-mmigrate over to the dental school thread if those of us still trying to acheive our dreams are "annoying" you.

anyways... my advice is.. that here in SDN..you take just what you need with a grain of salt.
you might get pleased or annoyed by some people on here.. but just don't take those very seriously.. This is an on-line community... you know what I mean.. 😀

To the OP, I doubt I'll be around much longer. I was already losing interest long before 12/1.

And Flossinator, lay off dsmack. Maybe it's just because I've been blasted for a similar thing, but I didn't see anything wrong with dmsack's poll. I don't see where you come up with the fact that he lacks social skills based solely off of a forum post. I could easily surmise from your post that you are some emo crybaby, but that would be completely unfounded, wouldn't it? My point is to not make random things up about a person just because your feelings got hurt.

Furthermore, the two points you made are completely unreasonable. I'm not quite sure what you were expecting by coming to this forum in the first place. Did it not ever occur to you that people from our beloved SDN would be accepted? And maybe they would want to discuss their acceptances? Fine, you didn't get in yet. But don't whine and cry about it to us just because we're talking about acceptances. Stay out of the threads in question and you won't be "offended."

I think i'l still be around...at least to get to know and callaborate with my future peers. As for what are my chance threads, i usually ignore those. However, in the near future, i assume i will be moving over to the dental thread. Its to bad your planning to leave SDN IHD. you were as informative as you were fun. gl to ya.
