So after physics and organic chemistry my GPA has taken a hit (3.2 sGPA and 3.5cGPA). I'm going to be a senior next year, planning on applying in the 2012 cycle. I'm taking a bunch of summer classes to raise my GPA. Do winter session courses count as well? Is it recommended?

Also, random question - my school counts each course as 1 credit (or half credit), while my summer courses will be 3 or 4 credits each. How should I calculate my GPA? Is the 1 credit course the same as a 4 credit course under the other system?

Thanks in advance folks!

Your school has winter session classes?

yup, a lot of schools offer winter session classes. i didn't find out about those until last winter.

I've taken a winter session class. It was a math class. Winter classes are not as easy as you think, my class was 3 credits and it was about 3 hours every day for 2.5 weeks, and it was alot of material. You have to stay on top of your game when you are taking winter or summer, you can't really afford mistakes, or falling behind.

And when you apply to medical school you have to list every class you ever took at any college, so yes it will count.

As for the 1 credit/2 credit normal semester thing, I really dont understand it.
