I thought about it and tbh I think ill do really well at acom. Its become my number one, at the interview i felt like they wanted me to be there, not like they were doing me a favor which was pretty much how i felt at lecom (not trying to insult lecom). I interviewed at lecom-b and just really felt like that school wasnt for me. I interviewed at acom and everything just clicked for me. I liked dothan, i like the curriculum style, the innovative approaches theyre taking, how nice the building is going to be (because they can afford to do pretty much w/e they want lol), non mandatory attendance, 2 person cadaver dissection, systems based curriculum, non anal dress code, i have close friends two hours away, the staff is AMAZING and they will do anything they can to help you suceed because they want to see their first class raise the bar. I mean really the list goes on, I was super impressed. I just had good vibes the entire time and felt like this was the school for me.
Also, dothan is a really nice place to live with a low cost of living compared to a lot of places so thats a nice plus too.

Say no more... all I just read was you being like 😍😍😍 about ACOM. Haha.
I bet you're super happy about not having to deal with applications and interviews anymore. I know it's a great feeling! Congrats again! 👍

Congrats man on your acceptance! hwy quick question. What is it that you like specifically about the curriculum?
Cole, good job man! Good luck too, I'm sure you'll do great at ACOM. It's not too hard to send an email to schools to ask them to withdraw your app since you got in somewhere else. I've done that with 5 schools so far, and they seemed grateful to hear directly from me. I'm sure either way is fine.
You will not get any money back. Sorry bro.

+1 this is what I did last year. Schools really appreciate hearing from you directly and not wasting their time. Congrats by the way!Cole, good job man! Thanks guys, and it def is a great feeling. Dang, you know that moment when you get into the school you want and wish you hadnt spent so much money applying to other schools..yep thats where im at, lol.
As for the curriculum, this is why I like. They do systems based but theyre taking some new approaches. After every test, you review all the answers in a group setting and you get to ask/understand why you answered it the way you did and got it right/wrong. Thats just one example, another thing i like is the same people that are in charge also teach the classes. They said you arent allowed to "just be a dean" you also teach. I like the non mandatory attendance, and the recorded lectures. For boards/examinations/clinicals w/e, theyre mirroring the real deal in every way down to have the rooms basically the same. They're sparing no expense to help their class do well, because they want to be a contender. They give you an ipad also, paid for by your tution loaded with your textbooks and tons of useful medical apps.
those are just some things that i thought were pretty cool. Im also a huge fan of systems based.

I emailed schools I had invites from and told them I appreciated the opportunity but I was declining and taking another acceptance. They all responded will a friendly email back. They appreciate the email because it an allow someone else to interview. Just not showing up takes that away.
Schools I was complete at without an interview I just sent an email saying I was withdrawing. No fluff.

Thanks for the info! I'm looking at doing that this week but wasn't sure how to go about doing it.
