Hi all,

I'm in a situation. I registered for a course thinking it would be more advanced than my previous coursework; however, I realized after the first week that it was very similar and even more elementary than what I had learned prior--this was not evident on the syllabus.

I was going to drop the course as a result; unfortunately, I was told that the last day to drop was yesterday and that I would have to withdraw with a W grade.

As I really do not want to continue the course ( I have taken 2 similar statistics courses and performed well), what should I do? Should I stick it out? It's an applied stats course ; I was hoping that it be more advanced than my previous coursework (I had taken mathematical and business stats), but I was wrong.

I'm concerned because I have several withdrawals from undergrad ( total 10 with a medical semester withdrawal that had 5 courses and the others were due to other extenuating circumstances).

Your thoughts would be appreciated as I haven't withdrawn in 2 years and have gotten As in science classes (biophysics, biochemistry, etc)

Why not take the easy A then..? Unless you get your money back, no point.

I appreciate your clarification.

I would get my money back; I will just get a W..
I'm mainly concerned about how adcoms will view this given my previous withdrawals. I also wanted to focus on other commitments

As you have so many other W's 2 years ago, you are in the process of reinvention, no? It's been 2 years since your last withdrawal so why withdraw now? It seems like ur application needs all the A's it can get. Take the easy A. Keep all those W's in the past

If this class is as similar as you are saying, you should be able to get an A while focusing on other commitments

Seems like a no-brainer to me...

Considering your BCPM GPA is on the low side, I suggest you stick it out and get the easy A.
