I thought this would be an informative thread for those who are on the waitlist/waiting to hear post-interview/waiting for interview people. Accepted folks can post which schools they withdrew from and when the withdrawal was requested.

I will be withdrawing from Case, Buffalo, and U Minn this weekend.

How exactly will you be going out withdrawing? I plan on withdrawing from Buffalo as well.

I am withdrawing Western pre-interview, Meharry (don't even know why I applied but got an interview though), and UPitt preinterview. No specific reasons other than to save money for deposit.

Withdrawing from usc as soon as louisville gets my deposit

Sent in my letters to withdraw from USC and Indiana so far

Well, some schools have an option in their packet. Something like "I will not attend." So you can send that in. I don't think Buffalo has that, so I will just email them.

I actually decided to wait on withdrawing from Buffalo (just a week, to think about it a little bit more).

Awww, I actually thought this thread was about DEFERing your dental school decision until later. There should be a thread on that! I've been tentatively considering it >< I still want to be a dentist, but maybe not just yet.... I know they are super strict about that kind of action.

Hey guys, I think we ALL should hold our horses on withdrawing. Make sure you have turned in all the necessary paperworks and deposits FIRST before you withdraw your other ones. My friend's friend got screwed over last year because that person got a call from her dream school and later on she found out they made a mistake. The school got her confused with another applicant that has the same name. So by the time she realized that happened, she had already withdrawn from 2 other schools. Ya she reapplied and got in again this year but it would SUCK to have waste a year because of that. So ya, just hold on tight to the triggers before pulling them. Make sure you're set first.

I will eventually withdraw from UMDNJ, BU, Temple and Buffalo. I agree that you should hold on until you make sure that you're in for sure and all the necessary paperwork went through. Especially if you are still in school.

Sent in my letter to withdraw from Temple today.

I want to withdraw from a school pre-interview. Should I send them a letter, or an e-mail? They asked me to respond via e-mail to set up the interview, so would it be alright to just send them an e-mail to let them know I won't actually be attending?

I would go with an email just telling them thanks but you wont be attending.

I'm am waiting for nova to receive/cash my deposit, and then I will withdraw from minnesota and case right away.

All necessary paperwork? I'm assuming you just mean the letter of commitment and check. Since for those still going school, we have to wait till the spring to turn in our final transcripts.

Withdrew from Nova this week, and know of a handful of others who will be doing the same. Best of luck to those waitlisted!
