My first two years I went to a CC. The first year I had a 3.0 and earned 35 hours. The second year I dropped fall and spring (10 classes, I was not premed at the time and they were mostly humanities). I was working a full time job (my parents made way too much money for me to get financial aid). If asked I plan on mentioning this as the reason (though in all honesty I probably could've made it through if I had more ambition at that time in my life) My GPA was a 3.0. (I had earned 35 semester hours prior to dropping).

4 years later I go back at the age of 24 with the help of financial aid, focusing entirely on school...

When I went back and finished the humanities I dropped and took precal, cal, gen chem 1-2 making a 4.0 in all these classes. I'm at 50 hours (somewhere around there, I don't remember exactly) and I start university classes in the fall. If I continue at this rate or similar rate (no more withdrawls and high GPA) do I have a chance at medical school right after undergrad would I be better off taking a masters in something first? The only thing I need for premed is physics and organic (and 60 hours of biology).

Edit* it was 2009 I withdrew

Worst case scenario is someone asks you about it to see how you respond. Most likely scenario is nobody will care if you establish a new trend. Mistakes early on happen. You're human. No need for masters if you finish strong.

I did the same thing, only I took straight F's instead of W's because I was an idiot.

Came back a few years later and knocked out the rest of my ugrad with a 4.0. Just got accepted this cycle and had plenty of love from md and do schools. My cumulative gpa was horrible, but it turns out that schools do look at more than the raw numbers.

Point being, You'll be fine. Good luck!

Thanks guys! I decided on this path and then after reading about it I thought "oh god, it's THIS competitive?" I was afraid I'd already ruined my chances.

That's good to hear. What MD schools gave you some love, if you don't mind me asking?
