A made a pretty dumb mistake.I have an interview at one of the medical schools schedule for this monday,19th oct, but realized on Friday I wouldnt be able to attend.
However,I mistakenly wrote a letter to the dean of admissions on Friday asking to be withdrawn from the interview on Monday and didnt tell him about rescheduling.AM I SCREWED!!

ummm... no. just write to him again and tell him you made a mistake and don't want to be withdrawn, but rescheduled

i agree; just write him again and you'll be fine. but seriously, how does one make that mistake?

Relax dude, the dean is a human, and he should understand human makes mistakes.

SDN people make the weirdest mistakes.

I agree that was dumb. But i guess I was overexcited after receiving an acceptance letter from my State school that same day.Sometimes over excitement can screw things up!

Why sit here on SDN asking questions about if you are screwed and whatnot..duh!! I mean its not a mistake that cannot be fixed. Like they said, write him another one apologizing and explaining. Or rather call..might be faster.

Gotta be more proactive, right??

Like everyone else said, call. Don't count on anything, but it can't hurt you any. On a side note, how do you realize that you can't make it only one business day before your interview?

I was counting on driving there and woke up on Friday with a serious cold. There was no way I could drive 6 hours sick and on top of that,my frequent coughing wont be conducive for an interview.
I appreciate ur response.I will go ahead and call.
I was just blunt stupid sending that email out without careful reading thru;probably cos I was excited of my state school acceptance that day.

Wow i dont get how you can make a mistake like that. Wouldn't the first thing that comes across your mind be when can I make it and then include it in the letter? Also, talk about last minute hah

As i said earlier,I was just overexcited from an acceptance offer I received that very day from another and didnt think right when sending out the email.
There was no way I could tell them when I would be available since I dont know all their interview dates just yet.
I will go ahead and give them a call and I pray this does not affect my admission.
Btw the school only interviews few out of state students and I was lucky to be among the few..duhh..I blame myself for such stupidness
