hi - are there any women EM docs out there? i've got a couple questions regarding family stuff that maybe I could email you...
also, can anyone put me in touch with an EM doc who actually does work part-time? i know it can be done, but wanted to chat/email with someone who actually has hunted around for a part-time EM job.

thanks!

I average one 9-10 hour shift per week (all weekend nights). My wife does 9 8-10 hour shifts per month.

Full time jobs are actually harder to find sometimes, especially when you're first starting out. Many hospitals/groups offer you as many shifts as you want, pay you by the hour, +/- benefits. If you want to take 2 shifts/month, that's okay. It all depends on what you can live on.

For those of us who live in relatively saturated markets (e.g. California), part-time work is easy to find, while a full-time position can be very tough to find. It's not difficult finding a corporate CMG that wants lots of docs on staff part-time to cover shifts as needed.
