Hey guys,
I just read a bunch of threads on women's clothes. They either seemed to be too detailed (asking if one specific type of clothing was okay) or digressed into a male vs. female equality war.
It seems like a lot of women aren't dressing up as much as their male counterparts. I'm trying to stock up on staples for clerkships and I want to make sure I'm buying the right things. People are talking about women wearing t-shirts and such. I didn't even know that was okay. So far I have dress pants in various shades of grey-black. I also just bought a bunch of cute button down shirts in some great bold colors I made sure these were long enough to tuck in, as so many dress shirts out there are 'trendy' and way too short to tuck in. Throw in some classic belts and a pair of danskos and I'm hoping I'm set.
My questions are: Are button down shirts for women ok? If so, why are so many people complaining that there is not much dressy wear for women out there?
Edit: Ok, rereading this I realize it sounds stupid. Of course they are okay. I guess what I really want to know is why people are dressing down. Is it for comfort? Lack of caring? Or just the mere fact that we can get away with it?
