Women's mental health Psych residency programs

Anyone have recommendations on Psych residency programs that have a focus on women's mental health? Doesn't need to be a full blown fellowship. Looking for a university or academic program. Only one I've come across is the one at UTSW in Dallas. Thanks all!

They have one of the best Womens MH fellowships as well. I've had peripheral contact with some of their faculty and have learned more about pregnancy and psychiatry that I ever thought I would!

Zucker Hillside has a women's inpatient unit and a curriculum pathway centered on Women's MH

U of Iowa has women’s/obstetric/peripartum psych service. I believe it was mentioned as a mandatory rotation when I interviewed there a few years back, but I’m not 100% sure. I know you can easily do electives through that service and there are plenty of research opportunities in the area as well.

You can also make it a big part of your outpatient year as well. Its not mandatory, but a lot of people opt to do at least some time there.

Its a good program/service, and as far as I understand there's not a ton out there, but chances are not every program advertises women's MH exposure well. Its definitely something to ask about on interviews.

Depends upon what you plan to do after, with your career. If go out and open you own private practice, just do an elective at one of the solid programs that already have that elective. You'll get what you need in that elective. If you want academics, then make sure you train at one of these programs. But to do a fellowship? I'm having a hard time justifying the why?

Some where in the Carolinas is a partum/postpartum inpatient unit

University of Utah has a women's mental health track during residency, I wasn't able to find any information about it on their website though.

Just to add, I believe UIC in Chicago also has a women's mental health fellowship -- back during residency interviews I remember them saying that they have a women's mental health inpatient service as well.

They do. Unfortunately lost some amazing attendings (1 to Harvard no less), but they have been replaced and it remains a significant strength of the program.
