Hey guys! Since the cycle opens May 2, do you know if I have to wait for the Spring semester to end (mid-May) so I can have those grades included in my official transcript or do I just apply without having those semester grades? I would highly appreciate any help.
Won't have official transcript before 2019 cycle opens?

Personally, I would wait until you get those final Spring grades and then submit. It’s not that long of a wait, only a weeks difference from May 2nd to May 10-15 which is when a typical semester ends so you won’t be “late.”
And you have to keep in mind that you only have one academic update in November (I don’t know if this will be the same next cycle since they’re changing things up) so I would want to have the best GPA to show in my initial application in May/June in your case.
That's very true. Also, since I'm planning to take the DAT sometime late May/early June, would my chances be affected much? I was going to take it in April but I don't think I would have above average scores which I really need in my case. I have a 3.26 sgpa, 3.47ogpa, decent ECs and shadowing hours.

Yeah with those GPA’s I would definitely get in all the grades you can and add those Spring semester grades..
About the DAT: No it won’t affect your chances but If you will be taking the DAT in May/June shoot for a 22+ Because you want your DAT to be solid so that it can get sent to ADEA and verified within two weeks. Study hard because if you have to retake (God forbid) you will have to wait 90 days to retake and THAT would be late.

Right, I thought it opened in June. This would be my first time hearing it opens in May.
Unfortunately, it opens in May this year. I called ADEA AADSAS to make sure today :/

They changed it, probably because the new system is electronic and schools get it real-time.

This is horrible. If ppl are on waitlist this cycle may is still a hot time to get acceptances and it’ll be confusing to apply or keep waiting. Why would they do this!!

It opens May 2nd but does anyone know if we are able to submit it before June or is the earliest we can submit it June 1st?
I thought the day the app opens is when you can start submitting.

I would assume that would be fine, but you guys will find out for sure soon once they release the updated application instructions for the 2018-2019 cycle.

They're probably still finalizing everything. Just know for now that it'll most likely open in May but you won't be able to submit until June.
thats what i was thinking... thats how the med school app is! You can get everything ready and together by May 2nd, but cant actually submit till June.
