Woo-Hoo! Free metformin!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How is that cheapening our profession? There is a difference between cheap or free antibiotics that leads to superbugs due to overuse versus metformin which is the standard for stage 2 diabetes. The latter is public service.

Public service lololol. It's definitely a business tactic.

Of course it is a business tactic. Both goes hand in hand. How does this make it bad? When CVS raises money for St Judes, is that a bad thing? It is a business tactic for CVS to advertise itself.

Oh there's nothing wrong with advertising a business. It's just funny that anyone that wasn't on their payroll would actually call it a public service.

You know they give away free antibiotics too, right?

What?!?!? A puiblic service?!?!? When did you lose your mind? Okay, so I guess we might as well give all prescription drugs away for free as a "public service". Oh by the way you get to work for free as a "public service".

Pretty brilliant business move. Take a $21 hit to dish out metformin like candy, and consolidate the patients other medications with your company. I'm betting the pt. with Type II diabetes is on a lot more medications than the one on amoxicillin.

can i get a $30 coupon with that free metformin?
