I have some activities or awards from High school and I was wondering if I should put that into my work/activities summary?

Some things I have made sure that it was continued even after I left high school, but other things were only there.

Is it ok to put in awards that I received in my last year of high school?

Awards & activites in HS got you into college. The AMCAS is usually limited to activities after HS graduation although some people break this [unwritten] rule, most often, it sems, for Eagle Scout.

Other reasons might be major research that culminated in a national prize or athletics that involved national or international participation (e.g. Little League World Series, Olympics).

I have read other people saying you need verifiers for your activities? However, if you have have any actual contact, but you have a letter from that person, would that be alright? Or should I track all those people down?

If it's an activity that you have carried from HS to college, then I say yes. Otherwise, barring some extraordinary achievement, I say no.
