I'm a driver for Sidecar (like Uber and Lyft) and was planning to discuss it in my apps. However, recently these companies have been getting some bad press because of taxi unions and insurance companies not sure how to deal with rideshare companies as they are neither individual policies nor purely commercial/taxi policies.
Does anyone have any advice on these companies in particular, or work that is operating in a portion of the law that might change by the time I interview?

I don't think this is a big deal.

I think it's fine, could be a cool talking point at interviews.

I think the whole issue is more controversial because of $$$$. Taxis lose their monopoly. I don't think there's that much of a safety issue, since drivers leave an internet trail.

As Planes2Doc said, you should be good as long as your interviewer isn't a taxi driver. 🙂

Heck, it's what you learn about your experiences that matter anyway. All the bad press is because the taxi industry is feeling threatened and it all comes down to money. The taxis will point out issues like insurance, the quality of the driver, the quality of the cars, but it really comes down to $$$ and stepping on their turf. But for an activity, their "bad press" has nothing to do with you.

The controversy is nothing you'd be looked down upon for. In fact, I'd bet you've got (or will have) lots of great stories -- I suggest you keep a diary of funny anecdotes, customer service moments, anything medical, challenging situations. Review before your interviews --
