For those of you who have had actual work experience in optometry before going to optometry school, not shadowing, but some type of actual work...How did you find out about the job? Did you just in to an office and ask if you could have a job or did you see an ad in the classifieds, or ?

The same way you get any job, stop by the office and ask for an application.

I found my job from the newspaper's ad. Now my employers use Monster.com. If you can't find anything, I would recommend walking into a practice and asking for an application or ask for their office manager.

I live in CA and used www.craigslist.org to find my job. I also did a lot of cold calling. I walked into many optometry shops, introduced myself, asked for application, and handed them my resume.
