I am looking to set up 4th year rotations and wanted some advice. I am looking for residency program in anes that will allow me to keep my work hard/play hard schedule intact, as much as possible. I don't really care how hard I have to work during the week but I want as many weekends off as I can get for competitions. any advice?

p.s. my first choice is to stay in the midwest, but location is less important -- thanks!

I was just wondering. How hard can one play in the midwest?

I know, its all relative.

JUST A HEADS UP.....

as a medical student youll prob have every weekend off

as a resident,

having every weekend off -> will never find a program like that

having about 2-3 (sometimes 4 if youre lucky for that one month) off a month -> prob most programs

Hi
Intern yr is a wash, so don't plan on much for your call months. Otherwise, my program is pretty cool. No call, no weekends for CA-1, ca2-3 get 1-2 calls/mo, and 1 of the calls is a weekend. Pretty cushy compared to what I've read around here.

Thanks -- not expecting every weekend off -- but was hoping for two of the four at least. lvspro -- sounds good, what program?
