Work or Masters Program??

Hello I would please love some advice. I am about to be senior this fall coming in with around a 3.2 GPA. I already made up my mind that I won;t be applying to med school this year but stuck between working or going to a masters program. and applying to med school probably in '14 or '15. If anybody been in a similar situation can you pleae give me some advice. Thanks,

Are you doing an SMP before you end up applying in 2014 or 2015? A 3.2 is very low for US M.D. schools. You might want to look at doing a post-bac to improve your GPA. That will be time well spent over a job or a useless grad degree if you think medicine is your calling.

3.2 is very low, true. I think either a master's or post-bacc would be fine. I'm inclined to say master's because I would think it would be more useful for your CV if things don't work out or take longer than you expect. Certainly, don't select a USELESS grad degree but there are plenty of related areas of graduate study that could make your application more competitive and at the same time enhance your CV in general.

I;ve definetly been more inclined towards a Masters Program, most likely in Biomedical Sciences. I have till Feb to apply so this Fall is my last shot to prove that I'm grad school material, Thank you for your answers!

👍 ^Definitely agree with this. I am not familiar with grad school classes counting towards the sGPA or cGPA. OP, is there a way you can check that? Or maybe someone else more familiar with this can jump in?
