Hello everyone, hope you can give me some advice. I'm a cosmetic medical doctor from
the UK, who is interested to come work in California. I've been looking into the
Medical Board of California, and also a few areas i'm interested in, and was wondering if
anyone can tell me more about the following?

1. In order to be 'licensed' even with the PTAL, since I'm not interested in obtaining
residency, do I still have to do the USMLEs? (based on the site, I understand I may need
the ECFMG cert, which makes me think I do)

2. Can Doctors with UK equivalents of 'MD' such as MBBS and MBChB legally use 'MD' after
their name in the US, mostly to avoid confusion?

3. I was told that physicians are allowed to do non-invasive cosmetic work, such as
botox/fillers. I assume this refers to a 'licensed' physican, as above, hence needing
to have done the USMLEs in order to be able to practice even privately?

4. What about other alternative medical related work, such as acupuncture and herbal
medicine? Do you still have to do the USMLEs / get board certified prior to being able to
do this?

Thanks very much!
