Hello,

I am a registered nurse, but I want to go to Dent. school. Would I have time to work in Dent. school, at least part time or on weekends?

Good for you. Medicine sucks this day and age. I am an RN also and have been for 10 years . I am currently a 1st year at Buffalo and I think I am the only one in my class with a job. Dental school is a lot of work but I seem to find the time to work on average of about 3 days a month. Actually I have to go to a stupid computer training class for about 3 hours tomarrow and then a 3-11 shift on Sunday. I don't think that it would be worth it to work if I was making 7 bucks an hour but salary as an RN pays the mortgage on 24 hrs/month. Good luck with school, I think that your time in nursing will be a great advantage for you. PM me if you have any questions.

Thanks for the reply. Working just three days a month? Wow! It means there is really no time to work then. I was thinking it could be possible to work on weekends like Fri, Sat, and Sun and also full time during the summer. I need ur advice. Actually, I am looking at starting the accelerated nursing next semester to graduate next yr, then go to Dent. school the yr after. Is it worth going through that or is it best to just go into Dent. school directly and forget the nursing. I was thinking of just using the nursing as a way to get some money while in Dent. school. You input would really be appreciated.

no time for work. When you do ahve a little time off you want to recooperate from the exams you took.
