I am a MS4 entering into anesthesiology next year. For the love a good woman, I am looking into working in the Netherlands after residency. Apart from language fluency (which I am working on), can anyone comment on working/licensing there? Either my google skills suck, or there is remarkable lack of good information on this online.

I know that European anesthesiologists all train in critical care, would a CC fellowship be required?
Would my residency/fellowship experience transfer to the EU or would I need to repeat training?

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks

Hi, I assume your partner is Dutch? This is the website that covers anesthesiology residency in the Netherlands: http://knmg.artsennet.nl/Opleiding-...ch-specialist-3/Opleiding-anesthesiologie.htm. It's in Dutch so she/ he might be able to help you. I can too, I speak Dutch (former Dutch citizen). If you want help translating it IM or send email, I'll give you my phone #. I don't want money or anything, just help you if I can.

Think of KNMG as the equivalent of ACGME and the board. I don't see the critical care part in the Dutch residency
