Hi,

I'm studying to be a CPhT and I'll be able to graduate/work before I enter college in September to help pay for college. I was wondering if working as a CPhT is manageable while being a full time student at university. There's plenty of CVS and private pharmacies near my school, I've already checked out one that has a pharmacy.

I will be attending a UC and then transferring out to a school that has a pharmacy program. How difficult is the USC school of pharmacy?
edit: I'm still a bit unclear on the whole pharmacy school situation. You can go to any regular undergrad school for 2 years then transfer out to a school that focuses on Pharmacy for the next 4 years, am i correct?

Many Thanks.

Not really called transferring out. It's applying and hoping that you get in.

You'd likely find more help in the Pre-Pharmacy forums (they're less cynical).

It is very manageable to work while attending University. Many people have done it (myself included) and managed to get into Pharmacy school just fine. It's specific to the individual, however, you'll have to see if you can balance the larger amount of more difficult coursework while working.

And as Sparda said before, you don't "transfer" into Pharmacy school. You'll have to take the required prerequisite classes, the PCAT (not at all California schools, more on that in the Pre-Pharm phorum) and then apply. You might get in, you might not.
