Worried about PTCAS submission date

So I submitted my PTCAS application on the 3rd of December, which was the deadline for NYU. All of my references, hours, transcripts were in before this date except for the transcripts of the classes I retook this past fall. I know it says it may take up to 4-5 weeks to process everything, but since pretty much everything was already in... I am getting kinda worried, especially with Christmas break coming up.. I was just wondering if anyone else submitted their application around then, and if there application was still not mailed to schools as mine.

Yeah I did the same thing for the same school. I added NYU on December 1.

How could they have all your references, hours and transcripts before the PTCAS submission? Doesn't PTCAS send those for you? Unless you sent all those yourself outside of the PTCAS system. Then you're in a better boat than I am because I didn't do that. I only just added them as a designation and did their supplemental application on their website on December 1st. But no I have not heard back from NYU saying they've received my application from PTCAS. Yeah I think it takes about 4 to 5 weeks.

Although I understand that it is very beneficial to get the application in well before the PTCAS deadline. I assumed it was still okay as long as the application was submitted before the deadline, even if only a day before. I assume PTCAS has it's deadline set about 4 to 5 weeks earlier than the school would like to stop accepting applications.

I applied to NYU but that was before I knew of it's tuition costs. They're kind of high.

I believe they mean PTCAS has all of those submitted items, not that NYU does

Hey this may help. I just searched a past NYU post/thread and someone said:

"The first round of interviews happened in early December. The final round is in mid January (from what I heard from the current students at NYU)"

NYU will probably just be receiving our information from PTCAS by early January so there is a short window there for them to schedule interviews with us.

Also in that other thread someone got a call on November 26th for an interview on Dec. 7th. So they call like 2 weeks before the interview date. So we are cutting it extremely close if final round of interviews are mid January. I think it might be too late but I don't understand why PTCAS' deadline would be so late (Dec. 3) if NYU's final round of interviews is in mid January. Hopefully we're not too late.

Yeah, I submitted my information around November 3rd, but I didn't receive word from PTCAS that it was all ready until like December 8th. I wish I had sent things in sooner, but I had a heavy course load this past semester and I'm a non-traditional applicant so thought it would be important to make sure my essay was good. Everything else was completed around September. I only applied to two schools and received a rejection from one already so I'm a bit worried at this point.

My application was verified on nov. 1st but added NYU on november 25th and got a call for an interview 2 weeks after and my interview is tomorrow! Hope this helps with a time frame! I'm sure they are still reviewing applications! Good luck!

It baffles my mind that you would wait that long to submit your ptcas application. Especially since they opened up in July. Schools always tell your the sooner the better
