My GPA is about a 3.2 after junior year. I also go to Vanderbilt University so it's pretty tough I take my DAT this upcoming week and have been average about a 20 on Science, 21 on PAT, 20 on RC and 22 on QR. I'm involved with a lot of clubs, fraternity and am an undergraduate research assistant performing research in the Vanderbilt Hospital Psychiatric Department.

What are y'all thoughts? I know my GPA is my downfall.

Vanderbilt is a great school, we are huge fans! With that said a 3.2 GPA from Vanderbilt carries some weight. Is that your science GPA because that is what dental schools will focus on.

I am not a big fan of timed tests so I can't comment on what you have scored on those. I would also add some community type service on your application, schools like to see that. Also because you are dealing with a lesser GPA make sure your personal statement shines, if you aren't a good writer find someone who is.

I have attached a file with some tips for personal statements you might find helpful.

Good luck on your DAT and if for any reason you are not feeling totally prepared there is never any harm in rescheduling.

Take care..Nancy
