So, there is a thread for worst interview answers.

How about people share some very awful MMI responses or experiences??

that's too great

It was my worst station for sure, and I kept kicking myself after that day... fortunately I might have done better at other stations and earned an acceptance eventually... otherwise I would hate myself forever 😛

At one station, the actress only replied with "yes" or "no" until I had no other questions for her, which proceeded with a 30 second silence until the time was up.

At one MMI station, I got confused about the wording of the question and realized that I read the question wrong 20s after I started to reply. I stumbled around for a bit trying to sneak extended glances at the prompt, so I could figure out what the heck was going on in the scenario! The interviewer had to ask me clarify what I meant a couple of times. By the time I figured it out, time was just about up. Hopefully the nature of MMI allows for us to sink on one or two... unless everyone superstars all of them.

It was one of my last stations, so I think I was just tired.

I am not sure if this is protected information, but what schools have acting? In my limited sample size, I didn't have to act in either.

I don't know of any schools that have the applicant act. From what I understand, we are only supposed to use the information we have from the scenario vignette. Heck, the MMI doesn't even expect you to have a knowledge of medical care. The only real point to a MMI is to see your compassionate, humane side combined with being able to think quickly on your feet.

Can't tell you guys which school I interviewed at, but it is supposed to be one of the MMI pioneers in the USA... and 9/10 stations are acting

As a MMI grader, i've seen couple of people who did pretty bad. One of the person that i interviewed was so nervous she didn't really answer the question. She kept on asking me to give her a minute to think about what she want to answer. The other one that stood out the most to me was a girl that death stare. It's that look when you get into trouble with your SO but she wont say anything but you know he/she is super pissed.

Everyone does NOT superstar all of them. The MMI absolutely allows for you to sink one or two. You are in the clear!

how do you grade the mmi? what do you look for in an answer?

Varies by school. The answer itself doesn't matter so much, it's the presentation. Do you see both sides of a situation? Do you provide evidence and reasoning for your statements? Are you engaging to talk to? Are you convincing? Do I think I want to have you as a future classmate? How are your communication skills? Do you come across as compassionate and empathetic? Can you think on your feet under pressure?

In reality, these are attributes you do or don't have before the interview. It is very difficult to prepare for an MMI because of this. Just be yourself, and if your personality/communication skills mirror what the school is looking for you will do well.
